1920 - 2020
Welcome to this exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of Sun Myung Moon and honoring his life’s work. His life was truly extraordinary and we are proud to present this compilation of major aspects of his life, work and ideas.
This year we also celebrate the 60th Wedding Anniversary of Father and Mother Moon, also known as the True Parents. Since Father Moon’s passing in 2012, Mother Moon has continued their joint work to create a world of peace.
Many of the quotations that you see on the displays are taken from the book that he wrote toward the end of his life, entitled, “As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen”. In this small volume he summarizes his lessons from life, and shares the motivation and purpose behind his most notable achievements.
The Legacy of Love celebrates the lifelong accomplishments of Sun Myung Moon (1920-2012) and his wife Hak Ja Han Moon. After marrying in 1960, they devoted their entire lives to making a world where all people can live in peace, harmony, and happiness.
Known affectionately as the Father and Mother of Peace, the Moons worked tirelessly to foster international and intercultural harmony through committed marriages and strong, healthy families. Beyond religion, nationality, race and ethnicity, we are all one human family, the holy community of God, our heavenly parent.
They created many international organisations to accomplish this purpose, including the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP), as well as many others across the world.
The website celebrates the centenary year of Sun Myung Moon and the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary. We welcome you, and encourage you to learn more about their inspiring vision of peace and join in and make your own contribution!
